On Wednesday I photographed this year's Current Collection of
Choreo Collective, a local modern
dance group containing a number of friends. I shot them during a
dress rehearsal while they ran the
pieces as they normally do...no shots were posed, nothing was redone to
allow me to get the shot.
It's a lot of fun trying to anticipate the action and get photos that
convey a sense of the motion as
it's happening. Above is my current favorite of what I got...my
"top 20" from the shoot are here: http://www.duke.edu/~ajs2/2005_03_ChoreoCurrent_top20/index.html
During this year's shows I'll be projecting some photos I've taken of
the dancers over the past three years, so if you're in
the area and interested, please come by and say hi. The shows
will be on March 19 and 20, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
